Horizon tight-lipped about restructuring at Miramichi Regional Hospital
The Horizon Health Network is saying little about a recent restructuring at the Miramichi Regional Hospital that resulted in four doctors being removed from medical leadership roles.
In a statement, CEO Karen McGrath says the physicians will continue to provide patient care at the network's facilities where they have privileges.
CBC reports the restructuring included the removal of the chief of staff, medical director, hospitalist and director of family medicine.
Meanwhile, McGrath says there will be no changes to services and programs at the hospital and that interim medical leadership has been appointed to ensure quality and safe patient care.
She says the matter is 'internal' and that the network will not be offering further comment.
