Iles-de-la-Madeleine hammered by Dorian

In Quebec's Iles-de-la-Madeleine, the weekend storm destruction from Dorian went far beyond property damage.

Entire sections of coastal roads and cliffs were swept away by the wind and waves, accelerating a process of erosion that for years has threatened homes, infrastructure and tourist attractions.

Quebec's public security minister acknowledges that erosion has become a concern for the archipelago in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and says work is beginning immediately to protect the most vulnerable areas.
