Man and three children rescued from Mount Carleton Provincial Park

Police say a man and his three children were rescued from Mount Carleton Provincial Park early Friday morning when they failed to return from a hike.

A release states park security called police around 10:00 p.m. Thursday after the father and his three children, all under the age of eight, failed to return from the Mount Sagamook Trail.

RCMP say weather was deteriorating when they arrived, and the family was located near the summit around 3:00 a.m. Friday.

Police say the family was treated around 7:00 a.m. by paramedics at the trailhead and then transported to hospital where they were later released.
