NB attributes record population growth mainly to immigration

New Brunswick

New Brunswick's population is on the upswing according to recent figures from Statistics Canada.

The province saw its population reach a  record 776,827 on July 1st, the largest increase in a year in nearly three decades.

That's an increase of 5,906 over the previous year.

New Brunswick's Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour tells CBC the increase in mainly due to immigration and Ottawa's Atlantic Immigration Pilot project.
