Province to help fund projects focused on climate change in the Acadian Peninsula

New Brunswick

The provincial government says several projects focused on climate change in the Acadian Peninsula will be supported through the Environmental Trust Fund.

The projects include examining how rivers and lakes are affected by a warmer climate, studying coastal erosion, and developing adaptation plans for communities.

The province is investing around $2.5 million in more than 60 such projects, including around $420,000 for the Acadian Peninsula.

Tourism, Heritage, and Culture Minister Robert Gauvin says, "In light of recent flooding and other challenges relating to a changing climate, these projects will help our communities better prepare themselves and equip for the future."
