Robertville residents call for safety changes to Route 322
Residents in Robertville are calling on the province to do something about speeding on Route 322.
For about a decade, they've been demanding the speed limit be reduced and a mandatory four-way stop at the intersection near La Croissée school.
They also want improved signage.
The speed limit is currently 50km/hr and the intersection is regulated by flashing amber and red lights.
But ICI Radio-Canada reports New Brunswick's Department of Transportation is refusing to make the changes.
The department says collision and traffic statistics suggest the intersection isn't a good candidate for a four-way stop and that the current speed limit near the school is appropriate.
