Second person dies as a result of head-on crash in Strathadam

A second person has succumbed to their injures following a head-on collision last month near Miramichi.

The RCMP says a 78-year-old woman from the Metepenagiag First Nation died Monday as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.

Police say the collision on August 23rd in Strathadam is believed to have occurred when an eastbound car crossed the centreline and collided with a car in the westbound lane.

A 72-year-old woman from the Metepenagiag First Nation died in hospital two days later.

A 38-year-old woman from Miramichi remains in hospital.

Police continue to investigate.
