22-year-old arrested causing disturbance, obstructing police during crash investigation
On September 24th, 2023, at about 9:00 a.m., Brockville Police says that officers were in the area of Bartholomew Street, investigating a motor vehicle collision. Police say during the investigation, a 22-year-old, male, who was a family member of individuals involved in the collision, attended the scene.
Officers say that once this person arrived he began walking through the scene of the collision, berating officers, threatening one of the involved drivers and causing issues interfering with traffic control.
Officers explained that they attempted to de-escalate the situation, however, the male only became more agitated. Due to the disruption and interference with officers' duties, the man had to be placed under arrest.
Police say the man was taken to Brockville Police Service where his behaviour continued. He was held for bail and charged with obstructing police, causing a disturbance, failure to comply with probation and uttering threats to cause harm.
