Assault charge laid after repeated domestic disputes at Brockville residence

Brockville Police Services have released information on a domestic dispute that led to an arrest in the local community. Police explain that officers were called to this dispute on October 31st, 2023 around 8:00 p.m. in relation to a domestic incident that was taking place.

Officers arrived at the scene on King Street East, where officers investigated and learned that previous, similar incidents had taken place. Police say that in this case, the 36-year-old, male, involved had pushed the victim onto the bed and forcefully taken a cell phone as well as thrown dinner plates causing damage in the residence.

Additionally, police say this man was also on probation with conditions to keep the peace and behave. The man in question had left the area prior to the police's arrival and police were seeking an arrest warrant. 

The arrest was man on November 4th, when police received a 911 hang-up call from the residence on King Street East. Officers again attended the address and located the male subject. 

He was arrested and held for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, mischief under $5,000.00 and failure to comply with probation.
