Man facing three charges of breaking probation, trespassing in ex-girlfriend's backyard

Brockville Police Services have made an arrest, laying charges on a man for three counts of breaching his probation order. Police explain that this took place on November 3rd, 2023. Officers received a call for this around 5:00 a.m. from a female on Perth Street.
Police say the woman informed them that her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend was in her backyard. She told police that she believed he was on drugs. Officers arrived at the scene and it was quickly identified that the male was on three separate probation orders with various conditions.
Officers explained that some conditions for the ex-boyfriend's probation are to abstain from communicating with this woman. Officers were able to locate the man at the scene and attempted to arrest him. Police say the man attempted to flee the area and fight with the officers.
Once police got control of the man he was swiftly arrested. Police say no one sustained injuries in this struggle. Officers say they also believed the male to be under the influence of drugs. As a result, he was charged with trespass by night, resisting arrest and three counts of failure to comply with probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
