Ontario Provincial Police have charged two separate drivers for driving under the influence on Halloween night. 38-year-old Sean DeHaan from Bath, ONT and 22-year-old Zachary Martin from Central Frontenac Township are each facing multiple charges.

DeHaan's arrest happened around 8:06 p.m. on October 31st. Police responded to a traffic complaint on Wright Place by Old Orchard Road after members of the public noticed a potentially impaired driver. Once officers arrived, DeHaan was arrested and charged with:

- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand

DeHaan is scheduled to appear in court on November 14th in Greater Napanee.

22-year-old Zachary Martin was the second man charged on Halloween night, with a more complicated arrest.

Martin was pulled over on Barrett Street in Napanee around 11:38 p.m. While officers were speaking with him, O-P-P say Martin drove off fleeing from police. His vehicle crashed into a tree down the road, and Martin attempted to flee on foot with another passenger.

The O-P-P Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were called to assist locating the two suspects. Martin was located and was arrested, but the passenger of the vehicle was not located.

Martin is facing the following charges:

- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Dangerous operation
- Failure to stop after accident
- Flight from peace officer

Martin is scheduled to appear in court on December 19th in Greater Napanee.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on December 19, 2023.
