Ottawa Valley Food Co-operative hosting four-course Harvest Soiree

BZ93 Harvest Party

The Ottawa Valley Food Co-operative is hosting its Harvest Soiree this November 3rd, celebrating local food producers while raising funds for the community. "What better way to celebrate the harvest than to attend a fabulous dinner made of local food?" said Nicole Viens Brennan, the event's lead organizer and OVFC Board Member.

The Ottawa Valley Food Co-operative is hosting this "Four Course Fundraising Dinner" on Friday, November 3rd at 675 Snodrifters Road in Eganville. Chef Paul Brennan will be preparing a unique harvest dinner using delicious, local ingredients provided by OVFC producers.

Organizers say the feast will feature the following unique dishes: Roasted squash soup, chai anglaise, and apple chutney. Beet and baby arugula salad with candied beet, goat cheese, tomato, radish, candied pecan and maple thyme vinaigrette. Roasted stuffed pumpkin with a ragout of mushroom and polenta souffle, served with parmesan sauteed brussel sprouts, or rosemary and sage braised brisket, served with roasted veg and goat cheese gnudi or gnocchi. Dessert will feature apple crisp with maple cream sauce, or maple ice cream.

There are seatings at 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., with the choice of Roasted Stuffed Pumpkin or Rosemary and Sage Braised Beef Brisket for your main course. Additionally, there will be beverages available from the cash bar.

Tickets are $65 per person and are available from the Ottawa Valley Food Co-op, or by contacting Nicole Viens Brennan at ndviens@gmail.com or by phone at 613-294-0904. To volunteer at this event, please call Nicole.

Organizers explain that the Ottawa Valley Food Co-op is a completely volunteer-run local nonprofit supporting local food and farmers in the local communities.  This fundraiser aims to help keep local food thriving.  Tickets for this event are limited.
