Police arrest intoxicated driver observed swerving leaving parking lot on Parkedale Ave.

Brockville Police have arrested a man who was driving while impaired by alcohol after officers responded to a report of a possibly impaired man getting behind the wheel of a car at a local parking lot.
Police explain that they received the call on November 5th, 2023 around 9:30 p.m. regarding a man who was seen at the Superstore on Parkedale Avenue. Police say he appeared to be intoxicated and was observed leaving the store and entering a vehicle in the parking lot. The Police report additionally states that he then left the area and was observed swerving as he drove away.
Officers responded and with investigation were able to locate the man, who was still in the vehicle, in the area of Massey Place. The 37-year-old man in question was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for testing, where it was confirmed he was operating while impaired.
As a result, the vehicle was impounded and his driver's licence was suspended. He was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was released with conditions and a future court date.
