Two local residents facing criminal charges in two separate domestic disputes

Ontario Provincial Police have laid criminal charges in two separate incidents of domestic disputes in the Killaloe area.
OPP explained that the first incident took place on November 5th, 2023 around 3:30 a.m. In this case, officers responded to a call for service, in relation to an assault at a residence in Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Township.
Once officers arrived at the scene, they conducted an investigation and as a result, a 58-year-old from Killaloe was charged with domestic assault with a weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code.
Then, on the same day just before noon, police responded to another domestic incident. OPP explained that this was involving threats at a residence on the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan Ontario First Nation Territory, near Golden Lake.
Once officers arrived and investigated the scene, they arrested a 29-year-old Renfrew resident. This person was charged with utter threats to cause death or bodily harm contrary to the Criminal Code.
OPP says both accused persons will appear in court at a later date. Police add that the names of the accused will not be released in order to protect the victims.
