Weapons, drugs charges laid after officers investigate suspicious person tampering with vehicles

Weapons and drug-related offences have been laid after Brockville Police responded to a suspicious person who was believed to be tampering with a vehicle. Officers were called to the area on Central Avenue, responding to the report around 8:45 p.m. on November 4th, 2023.

Officers arrived in the area and were able to locate the 28-year-old, male, in question. Police say an investigation revealed that the male was in possession of an 18-inch-long machete, a quantity of methamphetamine and $435.00 in cash. 

As a result of this, he was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. Police say the items were seized and he was released with conditions and a future court date.
