Stunt driving charge laid in North-Algona Wilberforce

A Pembroke resident is facing stunt driving charges after allegedly driving over 89 kilometres an hour on Hwy. 41 in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.
The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police say the incident happened at approximately 8:25 a.m. on April 29.
Police say an officer caught the driver traveling 169 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
A 33-year-old Pembroke resident was charged with racing a motor vehicle - excessive speed and speeding 50+ km/h over the posted limit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The driver was issued a summons to appear at the Ontario Provincial Offences Court in Pembroke.
The driver's license was suspended for 30 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days.
