Brandi Carlile Wins Grammys For Rock Performance, Song

Brandi Carlile, Ozzy Osbourne and Wet Leg dominated the Rock categories at Sunday’s 65th Grammy Awards.

Carlile’s “Broken Horses” was named Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song during the premiere ceremony.

“I cut my hair, learned how to scream, and just won a Grammy for a rock ’n’ roll song I sang with all my heart,” she said while accepting the latter. Carlile also won the Grammy for Best Americana Album for In These Silent Days, which is up for Album of the Year during the prime time show. Her song "You and Me on the Rock" featuring Lucius is vying for Record of the Year.

Osbourne, who did not attend the ceremony, won Best Rock Album for Patient Number 9 and Best Metal Performance for “Degradation Rules” ft. Tony Iommi.

British newcomers Wet Leg won both Best Alternative Music Performance for “Chaise Lounge” and Best Alternative Music Album for their self-titled debut. (Wet Leg and Måneskin are up for Best New Artist.)

Canada’s Bryan Adams was up for his first Grammy since 1998 – thanks to “So Happy It Hurts” – but lost to Carlile and Arcade Fire’s WE lost Best Alternative Music Album to Wet Leg.

Bonnie Raitt won Best American Roots Song for "Just Like That," which is also up for Song of the Year on the prime time show. Raitt also picked up the Grammy for Best Americana Performance for "Made Up Mind."

"Fantastic! Thank you so much," she said. "I never expect this and I’m just so proud to be representing how long I’ve been doing this."
