10 Songs Celebrating Mothers
Jann Arden declared "I've got a good mother / and her voice is what keeps me here" in her 1994 hit "Good Mother."
On 2018's "Most People Are Good,” Luke Bryan sings about believing that “most mamas ought to qualify for sainthood.”
Justin Bieber, in his 2012 song “Turn to You,” tells his mother Pattie Mallette: “Everything that you are is who I am.”
And, in 1990, LL Cool J declared: "Mama said knock you out.”
Alright, so maybe that last one doesn’t quite fit, but the point is, artists of all musical genres have been singing and rapping about moms forever.
(On Friday country star Tim McGraw released "I Called Mama" – which is something you definitely need to do this weekend.)
Whether the mother you’re celebrating this Sunday is the one you were born to or chosen by, and whether she's some place else or stuck in quarantine with you, here are 10 songs that will help you express how much she means to you.
