Ariana Grande was not happy about her lex-boyfriend Mac Miller losing Rap Album of the Year.
“Trash,” she tweeted. “Literal bulls**t. Bulls**t.”
The late rapper’s final album Swimming lost to Cardi B’s debut Invasion of Privacy. “He slept in the studio for two months,” Grande said of Miller’s commitment to the project.
Grande, who later deleted her initial reactions, made it clear she was not blaming Cardi. “nothing to do w her. good for her. i promise,” she replied to a fan’s tweet. “i’m sorry.”
When another fan called Cardi “trash,” Grande snapped back: “she’s not at all and that’s not what i meant and u know that.”
In an Instagram video, Cardi said she read an article in which Miller’s family said if his album doesn’t win, they hope hers does. “So I’m sharing this Grammy with you, motherf**ker,” she said. “Rest in peace.”
