Billie Eilish Unveils Signature Ukulele

Billie Eilish on Tuesday launched a signature ukulele with Fender.

The 18-year-old singer said she was just six when she learned to play the instrument.

“It's where I started writing, and where I found new ways of writing that I had never tried before,” Eilish explained, in a release. “It inspires a different kind of writing.

“The rules of the ukulele are simple, and basically if you know three chords you can play almost  any song. I hope my Fender Signature ukulele inspires people to start playing, and start writing; anyone can do it.”

Fender describes the ukulele as “a bold take on the four-string classic” featuring a built-in preamp and “sapele body adorned with Billie’s signature ‘blohsh’ symbol.” The company said it is making a donation to the Aloha Mele Fund, which benefits nonprofit organizations who are working to support COVID-19 relief efforts in Hawaii.

The Billie Eilish Uke will retail for $300 U.S.
