The BTS Army stepped up over the weekend to donate more than $1 million (all figures U.S.) to 17 organizations involved in the fight for social justice and equality.

The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, ACLU and Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project are among those selected by the BTS fan collective, One In An ARMY.

The cash started to flow – and the hashtag "#MatchAMillion" was trending – after BTS label Big Hit Entertainment announced it donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter.

Black Lives Matter, which is not a charity in any country where it has branches, collects donations through ActBlue Charities, part of a non-profit political action committee affiliated with the U.S. Democratic Party. BLM is not required to publicly disclose how it spends the money it receives.

On June 4th, BTS tweeted: “We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence. You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together.”
