Elvis Presley's Pants Up For Grabs
In the 1960s and ‘70s, many women would have paid a lot to get into Elvis Presley’s pants. Today, not so much.
Lelands, an auction house in New Jersey, is selling a pair of dress pants that purportedly belonged to the King of Rock and Roll.
It set a starting bid of $300 (all figures U.S.) and, with 22 days to go in the online auction, the slacks have fetched only five bids. The current bid is $531.
“Not exactly Blue Suede Shoes, but a classic item nonetheless,” Presley’s father Vernon conceded in a note that accompanies the trousers, which have “Name: E. Presley” and “MGM” printed on an inside flap.
Presley made 14 films for MGM in the 1960s, including Viva Las Vegas, Harum Scarum and The Trouble with Girls. He died in 1977.
