Fischerspooner Calls It Quits After 21 Years
Electroclash duo Fischerspooner is calling it a day.
“THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING,” read the caption an Instagram post displaying the words: “FISCHERSPOONER IS DEAD LONG LIVE FISCHERSPOONER.”
Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner created the act in 1998 and released three albums between 2001 and 2009. After a nine-year break, they put out the album SIR, which was co-produced and co-written by Michael Stipe of R.E.M.
While some fans are reacting to the news with well-wishes, others are expressing disbelief.
“This cannot be a thing,” commented one. Another wrote: “You will Emerge again" (a reference to the duo's debut single).
One fan shared: “Thank you for being the soundtrack to many special moments in my life!”
