Kanye West Earns About 60k Votes For U.S. President

Kanye West managed to get a little more than 60,000 votes in the U.S. presidential election on Tuesday, according to preliminary figures from The Associated Press.

The 43-year-old rap star launched a run for U.S. president in July with the aim of helping re-elect Donald Trump by taking Black votes from Democrats. But, West got less than half-a-percent of the votes in each of the 12 states where his name was on ballots and had no impact on the outcomes.

In Colorado, where Joe Biden was declared the winner with a double-digit lead over Trump, West earned only 6,254 votes – or 0.2 percent. Biden also easily won Vermont, where West got a little more than 1,200 votes.

West fared best in Tennessee, a Republican stronghold, with more than 10,000 votes – still only 0.3 percent of the total. He had similar shares of the votes in Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Utah.

Late Tuesday night, West tweeted: “KANYE 2024.”
