Kodak Black Offers $1M For Trump Pardon
Rapper Kodak Black said Friday he will give $1 million to charities if outgoing U.S. president Donald Trump pardons him.
“If The President Them Free Me , I’m Gonna Spend 1 million on Charity within The First Year I’m Out. That’s on Everything,” Black wrote in a tweet he later deleted.
The 23-year-old was sentenced a year ago to 46 months in an Illinois prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges.
In September, Black’s lawyers appealed to Trump to commute the sentence, claiming the sentence was unfair and the rap star was being abused in prison.
Black was arrested in May 2019 at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami. In August, he admitted he falsified information on forms so he could buy firearms from a Florida gun shop. “I have made some decisions I’m not proud of making,” Black said in court. “I do take full responsibility.”
The rapper is no stranger to the criminal justice system – he has been charged with robbery, battery, false imprisonment, possession of marijuana, possession of a weapon, sexual misconduct and fleeing law enforcement.
