Laine Hardy, last season’s winner of American Idol, has revealed he was diagnosed with COVID-19.
“This wasn’t what I expected on the first day of summer,” he wrote on Facebook on Sunday. “My doctor confirmed I have [COVID-19], but my symptoms are mild and I’m home recovering in quarantine. Y’all stay safe & healthy!”
The 19-year-old singer had performed the national anthem Friday at an event in his hometown of Livingston, Louisiana.
Acoustic versions of Hardy's songs “Ground I Grew Up On” and “Let There Be Country” are set to be released on Friday.
