LISTEN: Simple Plan Gets Cheery For Christmas Time
'Christmas Every Day' follows the Simple Plan’s fifth studio album Taking One For The Team, which was released earlier this year. This week, the band also posted the official music video for the album’s latest single, 'Perfectly Perfect.' The heartfelt companion video is the band’s fastest growing video to date, garnering over 500K views in just three days.
This Christmas single comes as a 15 year anniversary of their first official release in 2001, 'My Christmas List.'
"We’re really excited to release “Christmas Every Day”, our brand new Christmas song just in time for the Holidays! Our first official release as a band was actually a song called "My Christmas List" back in 2001, so our love for Holiday songs goes way back! After 15 years, we felt it was definitely time for a new one and we can’t wait for our fans to hear it!
Since we’ve been little kids, Christmas has always been our favorite time of the year and the inspiration for the song came from imagining what it would be like if we could keep the holiday spirit going and celebrate it all year. We hope you will enjoy the song and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a fantastic holiday!"
Simple Plan has earned widespread acclaim and a global fan following for their genre-defying blend of classic punk energy and modern pop sonics. Since coming together in 1999, the Montreal-based combo has achieved worldwide sales in excess of 7 million.
2008’s Simple Plan proved an planetary blockbuster upon its release, reaching the #1 spot on the iTunes Store’s “Top Pop Albums” chart while also scoring top 3 successes in Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and the band’s native Canada. Furthermore, the album premiered in the top 10 in such far-away lands as Hong Kong, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, and Germany, with top 20 debuts in Spain, Finland, and France. Get Your Heart On!, in 2011, found Simple Plan joined by an array of like-minded artists, including All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, and UK songstress Natasha Bedingfield. Singles like 'Jet Lag' and 'Summer Paradise' were both worldwide smashes, earning chart success and commercial milestones including earning gold, platinum, and multi-platinum sales in Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.
In addition to their studio forays and nearly non-stop touring, Simple Plan has long been involved in philanthropic efforts spearheaded by their own Simple Plan Foundation. Created in 2005, the Simple Plan Foundation supports a variety of social and medical organizations dedicated to helping young people in need. The Simple Plan Foundation has raised over 2 million dollars in donations to date. For more, please see simpleplanfoundation.org.
