Marshmello Performs For Millions In Fortnite

Marshmello performed “virtually” for millions of people on Saturday.

The 10-minute concert took place in Pleasant Park inside Fortnite, the wildly popular interactive game.

“We made history today!,” tweeted Marshmello. “The first ever live virtual concert inside of @fortnite with millions of people in attendance. So insane, thank you epic games and everyone who made this possible!”

Players were encouraged to make their avatars dance along to tracks like “Everyday” and they were launched into the air during “Fly.” Beach balls bounced around during “Happier.”

The interactive virtual concert was heralded by some as the first live performance within a video game – but it was not. Still, Marshmello wasn't about to let anyone steal his thunder. “I get it but no one has done it to this magnitude besides @FortniteGame,” he tweeted. “Who else had a full interactive set where over 10 million players got to play?

“This concert was about gaming and music really coming together and allowing so many different possibilities in the future...enough with the haters.”
