Miley Cyrus, Stevie Nicks Mashup 'Midnight Sky,' 'Edge Of Seventeen'

Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks have officially blended their voices for a mashup of their respective hits “Midnight Sky” and “Edge of Seventeen.”

“Stevie Nicks has always been my idol & an inspiration,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram. “It’s an honour to now call her my friend and collaborator.”

Cyrus has previously acknowledged using a melody from Nicks’ 1982 classic on “Midnight Sky,” which was released in August.

“I sent her the song and I said, ‘I have an alternate melody, if you don’t want me to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me,’” Cyrus explained on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “And she said, ‘You can borrow from me anytime.’”

Cyrus announced last month that her seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts, will be out Nov. 27. It is her first collection of new music in three years.

“I began this album over 2 years ago,” she wrote. “Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record – its songs/sounds but my whole f**king life. Just when I thought the body of work was finished it was ALL erased. Including most of the music’s relevance. Because EVERYTHING had changed.”

Cyrus has earned acclaim for her recent covers of Blondie's "Heart of Glass," the Cranberries' "Zombie" and Pearl Jam's "Just Breathe."

Nicks has attracted a new generation of fans this year thanks to a viral TikTok clip that used Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," a track written by Nicks for her band's 1977 album Rumours.
