Morgan Wallen apologized Sunday for behaviour that landed him in handcuffs.
The 27-year-old country singer was arrested Saturday night after being kicked out of Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse in Nashville. He was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
“Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air,” Wallen tweeted. “I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn't mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected.
“Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class. Love y’all.”
Late Sunday, he tweeted a photo of himself with Kid Rock that he captioned “Fresh out.” Wallen is scheduled to appear in court in July.
According to the arrest record, officers gave Wallen “several opportunities to walk away with his friends, but he refused.” Police said they arrested him because he was “a danger to himself and the public.”
