Neil Young is convinced Donald Trump will be a one-term president.
The 74-year-old Canadian rock icon, who became an American citizen in January after six decades of living in the U.S., shared his views on Trump in a piece he wrote for his website.
"He is, in the end, just a poor leader who is building walls around our house,” Young opined. “I believe he will be powerless soon and I wish him the best in his next life.
“That sorry man will not destroy the American Dream.”
Young blamed Trump for “a lot of this unrest we feel today as he has fanned the flames and tried to turn us against one another for his political reasons.”
The singer said he will cast his first vote as an American citizen for Joe Biden.
“Whether you think Barack Obama's white brother can handle this situation or not, he will most likely be our new leader, bringing compassion and empathy back to the Whitehouse (sic),” Young wrote, adding that he hopes Biden picks Stacey Abrams as his running mate.
Earlier this year, Young wrote about Trump's dismal environmental record. “Your policies, decisions and short-term thinking continue to exacerbate the climate crisis," he said at the time.
