Singer Christina Perri: 'We Lost Our Baby Girl'

Singer Christina Perri shared heartbreaking news late Tuesday.

“Last night we lost our baby girl. she was born silent after fighting so hard to make it to our world,” the 34-year-old revealed on social media. “She is at peace now & will live forever in our hearts.”

Husband, entertainment reporter Paul Costabile, added in a post of his own: “It’s been a rough couple weeks and we’re so grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers from you all.”

Perri, who was in her third trimester, revealed last week that the baby would require surgery after birth due to a defect known as jejunal atresia – an intestinal condition.

Earlier this month, Perri said she was in hospital because “baby is having an issue” and may have to be delivered early. But, on Nov. 11, she tweeted that she was able to return home. “Baby will still have some challenging issues when they arrive but hopefully I can stay pregnant a bit longer.”

The couple already has 2-year-old daughter Carmella Stanley.

Perri, best known for “Jar of Hearts” and “A Thousand Years,” released studio albums in 2011 and 2014. Last year, she recorded a collection of lullabies and sing-a-longs.
