With folklore returning to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, Taylor Swift has broken a record held since 1987 by the late Whitney Houston.
The pop star has now spent 47 weeks with an album at No. 1, beating Houston’s 46. She tied the record earlier this month but folklore was bumped to No. 4 for a week by Top by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and albums by Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD.
The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. The Oct. 3 chart will be published on Tuesday.
folklore is Swift’s seventh album to top the chart. Houston had four albums go to No. 1.
Among all acts, Swift is fifth – behind The Beatles (132 weeks), Elvis Presley (67), Garth Brooks (52) and Michael Jackson (51).
folklore has spent more weeks at No. 1 than any other album since Drake’s Views in 2016.
