The Weeknd To Perform AR Concert On TikTok

Like every other artist scheduled to be on the road this summer, The Weeknd had to put his After Hours tour on hold due to the COVID-19 – but the pandemic is not stopping him from performing.

The Canadian singer will appear in avatar form in a special augmented-reality concert streaming on TikTok on Aug. 7.

The Weeknd Experience uses 3D renderings and picture-in-picture video to create an immersive broadcast in which users can interact in real time. TikTok said it will be raising funds for the Equal Justice Initiative during the livestream.
