Thom Yorke Won't Be At Radiohead's Rock Hall Of Fame Induction
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke won’t be at the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 29.
“I can’t. I know I can’t,” he told Variety, in an interview published this week.
Yorke will instead be in France ahead of the April 7 premiere of piano pieces he composed for Katia and Marielle Labèque at Philharmonie de Paris.
Yorke suggested that missing the Rock Hall ceremony in New York isn’t a big deal.
“The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame… we’ve always been very blasé about that stuff,” he explained. “So we don’t want to offend anyone. We just think that we just don’t quite understand it. We’ve had it explained to us, so it’s cool.
“We don’t really know what to make of it.”
Radiohead is set to be inducted along with The Cure, Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Roxy Music and The Zombies.
