Legendary singer Barbra Streisand took James Corden for a ride in the latest instalment of Carpool Karaoke, which aired Thursday on The Late Late Show.
The superstar diva agreed to do the segment as long as she was in the driver’s seat because she refuses to be photographed from her right side. (The few times she has appeared on talk shows the hosts have had to change positions and sit where guests normally do.)
Streisand told Corden about having to be re-tested recently for her California driver’s license. Then, she joined him in singing “Enough is Enough,” her 1999 disco duet with Donna Summer.
Along the ride, Streisand revealed she has used the power of her celebrity to get tech support directly from the CEOs of Apple.
Corden and Streisand sang parts of 1974’s “The Way We Were” and the classic from 1964’s Funny Girl, “Don’t Rain On My Parade.”
Streisand used Carpool Karaoke to promote her new album Walls, which is out now. “Every song relates to something that’s going on in these difficult times,” she explained.
The pair sang a bit of the album’s “Imagine/What A Wonderful World” medley and the single “Don’t Lie To Me.”
Streisand confirmed that it was comedian Tiffany Haddish who told her about Cardi B – and then reluctantly backed-up Corden on “Bodak Yellow.”
