WATCH: Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa Go Wild In 'Prisoner' Video
Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa on Thursday premiered a wild video for their new retro-sounding collaboration “Prisoner.”
Shot in Brooklyn at the end of September and directed by Cyrus and Alana O’Herlihy, the campy visual shows the pop stars on a sexy road trip packed with frightening amounts of both pandemic-be-damned contact and carcinogenic maraschino cherry syrup.
There’s also a lot of extended tongues, at least one middle finger – and a crunchy arachnid. The gritty video ends with the message: “In loving memory of all my exes. Eat s**t.”
The song is credited to Cyrus, Lipa and six others.
Ironically, the "Prisoner" chorus evokes Olivia Newton-John's 1981 hit "Physical" – and Lipa has a song with the same name on her album Future Nostalgia. (Fun fact: Newton-John's "Physical" started a 10-week run at No. 1 in the U.S. exactly 39 years ago this week.)
“Prisoner” follows “Midnight Sky” off Cyrus’ seventh studio album Plastic Hearts, which drops Nov. 27 and also has collaborations with Billy Idol and Joan Jett.
