Weezer on Tuesday released “Hero,” the band’s first new song since last year’s “End Of The Game.”
The track is a taste of Weezer’s forthcoming 14th studio album Van Weezer and comes with a video that honours frontline workers in the COVID-19 battle.
Van Weezer was scheduled to be released this month but was pushed until later this year due to the pandemic. The Hella Mega tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy this summer is also up in the air.
The new album, produced by Suzy Shinn, was inspired by Weezer members’ early hard rock influences – including Black Sabbath, Slayer, Metallica, Kiss, Rush and, of course, Van Halen.
