Patrick Maliha; Inside Afghanistan; Election 2021
Patrick Maliha is a BC comedian and he gets a little deep, maybe even serious for this episode as he joins the Showgram every week at this time. The Showgram takes a look at what is going on in Afghanistan, and Canada's history with the country. The best person to do this with is Christian Leuprecht, a Professor at the Royal Military College of Canada and Queen's University, and Matthew Flinders Fellow at the Flinders University of South Australia. A friend of the Showgram and political commentator Jim Warren helps us discuss the federal election.
Free For All Friday features top talent across the iHeart radio talk network. Hosts from all over the country join the roundtable to discuss the five biggest stories of the week. This week's show is hosted by Deb Hutton and features panelists Jerry Agar, host of the Jerry Agar Show on News Talk 1010 in Toronto, and Tamara Cherry, former crime reporter and founder of Pickup Communications. Topics: Nineteen students and 2 teachers at an elementary school in Texas were murdered in a mass shooting. What is the solution to gun violence? Why does this keep happening? The Ontario election is a week away. Whose campaign has been the strongest? Former co-hosts of Toronto radio personality John Derringer are accusing him of workplace harassment. Do we think this is indicative of the industry and private sector management? The goal of Quebec's Bill 96 is to protect the French language, but is it instead an assault on English language rights? A Florida high school class president was told by his school that they would cut his microphone if he said “gay” in his grad speech, so he replaced gay with “having curly hair.”
David Cooper is hosting the Late Showgram. Today's call in topic: What did you get away with? What’s your secret? Have you been sitting on this one for a while, call us, confess, it'll be cathartic. What things have you gotten away with that you're proud of? Maybe you fought the law and you won, or maybe it was the cookies in the cookie jar. Whatever it was, what did you get away with?
