Well, we've very quickly moved into the New Year and snow conditions remain very good despite the milder weather. There's a huge motorcycle show underway and Festival of Lights are on their last flicker...2020 is starting out like a lamb with above seasonal temperatures but ski resorts continue with spring skiing conditions and plenty of snow on the open hills.

There are 17 resorts open this weekend from 50-100% operational. We're heading up to Blue Mt this weekend, so watch for the NEWSTALK Pizzaville Audi Etron to win a $25 gift card from Pizzaville..or spot me in the Descente/NEWSTALK ski suit to also win. Blue is running on 31 of 43 slopes along with the annual Frozen Rail Jam on Saturday..some of Ontario's best freestylers and boarders with practice at 9..qualifying at 11 then finals at 3 with $1,500 on the line.

Mt St Louis/Moonstone has 36 of 36 open. Snow Valley 14-20, Horseshoe Valley 25-28, Hockley Valley 11-15, Hidden Valley 9-15, Sir Sams 14-14, Brimacombe 5-20, Dagmar 16-18, Lakeridge 14-18, Batawa 8-11, Glen Eden 15-17, Chicopee 11-12, Uplands 2-6 and cross country...Arrowheaad Provincal Park with 33 of 44k and a torch light show shoe tonite..6-9, Snow Valley with moonlight and chili tonite, Horseshoe Valley as well with moonlight snow shoe...Scenic Caves with 7 of 27, Highlands Nordic 22-24, Mountainview 35-35, Hardwood Hills with 22-40 and there's a torch light skate tonite in Bala..Muskoka Lakes Farm and winery...400 torches on 1.2 k trail..waterfalls and fire pits from 6-9 along with two pond hockey rinks.


OK, as for events...North America's biggest motorcycle show runs this weekend in Missisauga..the Super Show Case with live bands, food market and 3 main areas...Touring and Cruising...Industry Showcase then race and performance..Sat 10-8..Sun 10-5 at the International Center.

Ontario Place continues to run Aurora Festival..last weekend..ferris wheel, rides, games, food areas, tube park and skating to name a few ideas...it's Canada's largest winter festival winding up Sunday night.

The ROM is fun with 3 attractions, also last weekend..Bloodsuckers, Sci Fi art and memorabilia along with worlds best wildlife photography.

The Bentway Skate Trail also winds up this weekend on Sunday...skate 220 meters under the Gardner..rentals as well from noon-9.

Tunnel of Glam remains bright at St Clair and Yonge St..80ft interactive tunnel of lights..millions of lights and it's free from 7am to 11pm daily.

For gardeners get ready for Spring and head to Alan Gardens in the city for annual Floral Show..thousands of blooms in 4 main areas..seminars and more..10-5. 

Festival of Lights also continue with Christmas Glow at Toronto Congress Center in Etobicoke with something for everyone in the family..live music, licensed bar and more.

Owen Sounds Festival of Lights wraps up on Sunday along with Nathan Philips Square Cavalcade of Lights.
