It's Family Day weekend! And there's tons to do!

Well here we go..the busiest weekend of the year with perfect weather and a ton of family events in the city and ski country plus trade shows are everywhere.

Lets start with skiing..excellent conditions with return of colder air along with 5-10cms of natural and man made snow.  All resorts are open full operation for both downhill and cross country.

Never Ever Days for beginners takes place at 9:30 on Saturday at Snow Valley then Sunday at 10.  $25 lift tickets including rentals and a group lesson.  Watch for the NEWSTALK Pizzaville Audi Etron on Saturday at Mt St Louis/Moonstone to win a $25 gift card from Pizzaville. 

OK, as for events the grand daddy of em all is back..the International Auto Show at Metro Convention Center til the 23rd...This years feature, world's most expensive super car..$16 million..80's and 90's cars,  plus over a 1000 vehicles on display. 

The International Center in Mississauga is busy. 3 big shows.....KidsFest with Canada's largest inflatable road show through Monday.  The new Home Show and Home Improvement with over 300 vendors and celebrity guest speakers through Sunday along with the Spring Fishing and Boat Show..Sat through Monday also at the International Center. 

On Saturday in Newmarket it's Winterfest with a pancake breakfast at 9 Riverwalk..Stoufville features Snowflakes and Starlight on Saturday from 6-8 pm with fireworks.

Woodbine Beach opens it's popular Beyond the 5 Senses, Winter Stations..outdoor winter carnival for art through March. 

Light Festival continues at Distillery along with opening of Winter Light Exhibition at Ontario Place.

Heading into ski country..there's a bunch of Winter celebrations along with some tradition.

How about 72 years and still going strong for Winterama in Penetanguishene....There's a huge parade on Sat at 11 followed by cardboard toboggan races and a polar bear dip through Monday. 

50th annual Winter Carnival takes place in's actually been going since the 13th but winds up this weekend with demolition derby, bed races, polar bear dip and plenty more throughout town.

Parry Sound won't be outdone with their 36th annual Snofest...Sat-Mon..pancake breakfast on Sat at 8 then Seguin Sled Dog Mail Run from Humphrey Reserve along a 17k forest trail to Rosseau Post Office.

Dorset is celebrating with 30th annual Snowball Winter Carnival..Sat and Sun starting with an all you can eating pancake breakfast on Sat at 8:30 then a parade at 10:45 on Main Street.

Wasaga Beach has 15th annual Snowman Mania..Sat - Monday with downtown beaches filled with snow building and carvings.

Ice Fishing is big this can fish for free without a licence for Family Weekend or if going for money.

5th annual Lake Simcoe Derby on Sat with $10,000 on the line and meet Doug Gilmour on Sat at 10.

Also 3rd annual Beaverton Derby and Fish Fry on Sat at the Legion. 

It's a one day winter celebration in Haliburton with Frost Festival featuring a polar bear dip at 1 on Head Lake..also Sir Sams Ski resort is holding Family Challenge on Sunday.

If you're into snowmobiles, head to Georgian Downs for the huge speed and air show with Snowcross Championships and Pro Nationals..Sat and Sun.

Friday Harbour is busy with Family Day featuring ice carving, Winter vendor Market, live entertainment, food trucks, skating and the Great Canadian Cearsar Bar with fireworks on Sat night..all runs through Monday off Big Bay Point Road. 

Over in Hamilton, it's Kidsfest at Ancaster Fairgrounds, Sat-Mon...featuring the ROM's traveling Planetarium and more.

As for Monday, Family Day there's a long list of towns holding celebrations...Aurora at Town Park, Barrie at Sports Complex plus Baysville Community Center, Blue Mt Village, Cambridge at Center for the Arts, Dundas at Museum, Guelph at Victoria Rec Center..Hamilton at Ancaster Fairgrounds, Innisfil at Friday Harbour, Wye Marsh Wildlife Center in Penetang, Mississauga at Celebration Square noon -4..Scarborough at Winter Rouge on Zoo Road, Ft York, Wasaga Beach and Evergreen Brick Works from 10-5.

And Family skating is a great way to spend a day at Bala Johnstons Cranberry Farm, Blue Mt at Woodview Mountaintop, Bracebridge at Memorial Park, Brampton with Chinguacousy Park and Gage Park, Etobicoke at Colonel Smith Trail, Arrowhead Provincial Park in Hunstville, Lakefield at the Oval, Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville, Fern Resort in Orillia, Discovery Harbour in Penetang, Trent Canal in Peterborough, Hanna Park in Port Carling, MacGregor Park in Port Elgin, Richmond Green in Richmond Hill, Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto, Nathan Philips Square and Bentway Skate Trail off Bathurst and Front St.
