This weekend, winter hits us hard!

Well, without a doubt it's all about the weather this weekend with return of Old Man Winter and snow.

We have a ton of outdoor and indoor events to enjoy with all 17 resorts now open running near full operation thanks to the cold and snow making. There's no need to give you the list with everybody at full or near full operation on machine groomed granular/powder.

Also in Toronto there's a bunch of big indoor shows..biggest in the Country...The International Boat Show is back so maybe a sign of spring..Over 1000 boats, hundreds of exhibitors, indoor lake..North America's biggest...water ski and boarding demonstrations..fashion shows and much more at the Enercare Center through next weekend CNE. 

The Interior Design Show takes place at the Metro Convention Center, South Building..hundreds of exhibitors, 53,000 of world's leading products and companies, celebrities and 14,000 industry leaders through Sunday. 

There's another Light Festival...this time at Distillery with thousands of illuminated displays turning the dark cold into warm light...international light artists as well and it's free through March 1st. 

The Rogers Center is busy getting ready for the baseball season with Winterfest..meet some new and former players in the Jays Zone.

There's a skating rink, arcade games, carnival rides, plus the Chill Lounge for adults all weekend.

Historic Fort York is celebrating with Frost Fair..Saturday only with lantern tours and 19th century lights, food and drink from 10-5. 

Heading into ski country there's tradition in Peterborough with Snofest...over 50 years of tradition kicking off on Sunday with a Mayors free pancake breakfast then full week of activities....flap jacks from 9-noon at the Sports and Wellness Center.

Fire and Ice Festival takes place in Alton..celebrating the arts, culture and great outdoors with pond hockey, super snow slide, skating and plenty more on Sat from 10-8 at the Arts and Rec center plus Mill Pond. 

Barrie is fashioning the Womens Show..fitness, fashion and health at Bradford Greenhouse, Barrie location on Sat 10-6..Sun 10-4.

Burks Falls kicks off Winterfest..25th year with a big dance Saturday night then free pancake breakfast Sunday morning 9-11.

Haliburton is going to the dogs..Highlands Dog Sled Derby with teams from across North America...4 and 6 dog sleds..over 100 teams, Sat and Sun at Pinestone Inn. 

Niagara on the Lake moves into full gear with annual Ice Wine Festival...There's a ton of community and winery events with local chefs pairing local foods for a palate extravaganza..11-5 on Sat and noon-5 on Sunday

Throughout the region and if looking to skate tonite..there's a bunch of rinks in the GTA including Nathan Philips Square but something unique in Bala..Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery with 400 torches lighting up a 2k forest trail every Saturday night..there's also two pond hockey rinks all starting at 6.
