We're back!

Welcome back to another season of fantastic skiing and YES it's going to be different this year.

First of all I'd like to welcome back Pizzaville as main sponsor for the past 9 years, Rossignol skis and boots, Audi Canada with the NEWSTALK Etron, Smith Optics and Spyder ski wear.

Get ready for something new this season... Covid rules are already in place at many resorts at home and across the country.  Each resort has rules but the consistent standard for all resorts will be pre booking your lift tix due to social distancing and skier capacity.   This goes for any resort attraction as well.

Each resort will have a maximum for daily tix skiers.... so the days of waking up on a sunny morning and heading up to the hills are over for now.  Book your tix in advance to be guaranteed a fantastic day on the hills.  This will apply to the busier resorts with some exceptions for the ones that don't carry large daily crowds.

Here's an example of new rules..For 6 person chair lifts it'll take just two skiers.. Gondola rides will allow families but no stranger riding..singles will be allowed to ride up the mountain as we have here at Mt Tremblant.

You'll also find reduced chalet access with social distancing between tables and once again reduced numbers allowed in one area.  Apres skiing will also take a hit but I'm sure as the season moves along they'll find ways to enjoy safe, after ski celebration.

For more information, head to your local ski resort website for all the details but once again pre book lift tix. But we ask that you be patient the first couple of months as resorts and skiers figure things out. We're all in this together and keep in mind with skier capacity numbers, there won't be as many people on the hills and trails.

The NEWSTALK Rossignol ski team is on the road again..this time heading back to Mt Tremblant.

Despite the crazy amount of snow in ski country the past 3 days, Southern Ontario resorts aren't open yet..there's no frost and it's not cold enough to make snow or for snow to stick around.  Dec 11th will be many opening days.

The NEWSTALK team will be at Mt Tremblant this weekend enjoying some early winter skiing and good snow for this time of season.  This is their 3rd weekend of skiing and while not fully open there's still top to bottom runs.

What I really like and enjoy about Mt Tremblant is fantastic accommodation at the best hotel on the mountain...one of the best you'll find at any resort..ski or golf in the world.  Fairmont Tremblant..the only ski in and ski out hotel on the property with luxurious accommodation, magnificent dining, relaxed country atmosphere with the coolest aqua spa you'll find at any resort in the world.

Millions of dollars in renovations has made the Fairmont a showcase of class and elegance at Mt Tremblant.  There's indoor and outdoor heated pools, whirlpools, poolside drink and snack service, spa service and just a fantastic way to relax after a busy but rewarding day on the slopes.  When you pull up to the front entrance..you know you've arrived at something special.

The coolest doormen will welcome you..make you feel at home with relaxed unloading equipment and luggage.... the reception desk is centrally located in a beautiful renovated lobby with friendly happy customer service and concierge.

The Fairmont Tremblant is truly the class of Mt Tremblant and you won't be disappointed with the rooms, food, service, amenities and of course the Fairmont touch of class.

We look forward to kicking off the ski season at Mt Trembant and then back to kick off Southern Ontario skiing the following weekend.

BTW..watch for the Newstalk Pizzaville Audi Etron on the slopes this winter to win great prizes from Pizzaville!

See you on the slopes!
