Christmas Lights

Well, Christmas has moved into full swing with events right across the Province with Santa Claus parades, Festival of Lights and plenty more for the entire family.

The NEWSTALK Pizzaville Audi Etron will be busy handing out $25 gift Pizzaville gift cards at Canada's Wonderland on Friday kicking off their first ever Winterfest with millions of spectacular lights, world class entertainment, Christmas food and beverages for all ages.  Runs through Jan 5th.

There are a number of Christmas Light Festivals starting this weekend and more to come next week.

The NEWSTALK team will be heading to Niagara Falls next week for one of North America's biggest light shows. Winter Festival of lights with over 3 million lights, lasers, Fallsview Sound and Light Show, Holiday Tours and plenty more with over 1 million visitors each year.   

Ontario Place is a blaze with millions of lights as well....Canada's largest winter festival... with a skating rink, tube park, market, rides, food gardens, magical characters, and plenty more through Jan 5th. 

There are 4 other Light Festivals kicking off in Georgina at Pioneer Village, Goderich right downtown, Aurora and Owen Sound along the Board Walk and downtown. 

Plus, Distillery is up and running with Christmas Market..free weekday admission and free admission this weekend with a food donation to Daily Break Food Bank.  

Elsewhere, heading indoors to the International Center in Mississauga,  it's Canada's largest Christmas pet festival and it's big spread over 4 Halls with 250 vendors, activities for kids and your pets, food market, Santas Village, demonstrations for every kind of pet you can imagine and more through the weekend.

Just around the corner in Hall 5,  check out the Seasons Christmas Show for humans...gift ideas, artisans, stocking stuffers and more through the weekend. 

Heading into ski country, Port Stanley in Muskoka has a wonderful tradition..Santa Express starting on Saturday with daily departures from Terminal station. Ride with Santa and his elves..gifts for kids and more...first train leaves at 11.

Saint Marie Among the Hurons is always a great place to take the family especially on Saturday with with 20th anniversary of First Light with over 5,000 candles, activities, performers and more along with fireworks all starting at 7. 

The Annual Poinsetita Show is huge and spectacular when you first walk in the Floral Showcase. now in it's 65th year...thousands of Poinsettias along with Christmas cyclamen, azaleas, cacus and paper white narcissus...it's like a tropical oasis from 9:30 to 5 daily.   

Niagara on the Lake is also a great place to visit and experience the Christmas season with 27 wineries celebrating Taste of the Season...one pass gets you into the wineries, sampling, food and much more and the NEWSTALK team will be heading to Niagara next weekend to tell you all about the region and spectacular Festival of Lights over the Falls.

Santa will be busy again this weekend with parades at 10 in Angus, Midland and Pickering..at 11 in Gravenhurst and Markham..at 5 in Wasaga Beach, 6 in Aurora and 6:30 in Goderich. 

As for skiing..yes we will be out again this weekend at Mount St Louis/Moonstone, Horseshoe Valley, Blue Mountain and Lakeridge...limited but still plenty of snow on the open hills.
