Catholic and French teachers hold province wide strike
Today is a day off for thousands of students across the province, with many of their teachers set to gather at Queen's Park.
Catholic teachers and French teachers are holding a one-day, province wide strike. Some public high school teachers are off the job as well, including those in Toronto.
They're planning another huge demonstration at the legislature that could affect your drive downtown later this morning.
They're expecting around 15,000 people.
Toronto Police have warned of potential road closures in the area starting around 9:30 a.m., including Queen's Park Crescent between Bloor and College.
This job action is going ahead in spite of an offer from the province to back down on increased class sizes and mandatory e-learning.
The Catholic teachers' union has more talks planned with the government today.
