COVID cases creeping towards 1,000 in Ontario
Ontario is reporting 939 new cases of COVID-19 today, significantly more than yesterday's 797 cases.
Today's case count marks a new daily record.
336 cases are reported in Toronto, 150 in Peel Region and 126 in Ottawa.
The province is also reporting five new deaths due to the virus today, all people over the age of 60.
There are 225 people in the hospital which is an increase of 19, the highest it's been since late June. The number of people in the ICU and on ventilators remained the same.
