Man dead after police shooting in North York

A man is dead after police opened fire in the parking lot of a Best Western in North York on Thursday.

The shooting happened just after noon, and police originally reported the man was armed with a gun and a knife in a vehicle.

What makes this even more interesting, is that the shooting happened in the parking lot that joins with the 31 division headquarters.

There's no information on the age or sex of the person who was shot, but the Special Investigations Unit has been called in to take over the case.
