Motorcyclist dies after crash in Scarborough

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist crashed and died in Scarborough.

Toronto Police Const. Alex Li says multiple calls came in shortly after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

"It was in regards to a single motorcycle collision at the intersection of Tapscott Road and Melford Drive," Li says.

When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist had serious injuries. When paramedics got there, they upgraded the injuries to life-threatening.

"Unfortunately the motorcyclist has succumbed to their injuries and has been pronounced (dead) at the hospital," Li says.

Tapscott Road will be closed between Finch Avenue East and Crow Trail for several hours.

Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage to call police.

No indication at this point on any factors that may have contributed to the crash.
