One person dead after late night shooting in Scarborough Saturday

A person was shot and died of their injuries following a late night altercation in the Wexford neighbourhood of Scarborough Saturday night.

Toronto Police confirm the shooting occurred in front of a house on Tower Drive, near Lawrence Avenue East just west of Warden Avenue, sometime before 11 p.m.

Reports suggest a passerby found the victim, described as a male in his 20's, on the ground and called for help. 

The male vicitm later succumb to his injuries in hospital.

Duty Inspector Darren Alldrit confirmed that police were looking for two suspects involved in the shooting.

" This gentleman was in the area, two gunshots were heard by some witnesses in the area. The suspects, we believe, fled in a light coloured vehicle northbound on Tower Drive."

One of the two suspects is described as a male black, who was wearing baggy jeans and a hoodie.

Homicide detectives have assumed control of the investigation.

The guns and gangs task force has also joined the investigation.
