One person dead following Scarborough apartment fire

The scene of a fatal fire in Scarborough

Police originally called the death of a woman in a Scarborugh apartment fire suspicious, but then pulled back on that stance.

The body of the woman was found in the apartment hunit near Finch and Warden, after the fire was extinguished just after 8 o'clock on Monday morning.

Toronto Fire say they believe the fire killed the woman, but they couldn't say what caused the fire.

The Ontario Fire Marshall's office has been called in to investigate.

Police said that officers have reviewed evidence and no criminal act is suspected.

The name and age of the woman hasn't yet been released.
